New Executive Order on Childhood Vaccine Recommendations: What Schools, Universities and Other Educational Institutions Need to Know

On August 10, 2026, President Trump signed an executive order titled “Delivering Gold Standard Childhood Vaccine Recommendations for Americans.” The order reorganizes the federal government’s childhood immunization recommendations, urges states to revisit the requirements that govern school enrollment and attendance, and directs several federal agencies to press states, localities, and their own grantees and contractors on the availability of religious and medical exemptions from immunization requirements.
